Reading blogs helps them improve their reading skills. If you add podcasting this lets the students work on their spoken English as well. Using blogs in ESL classrooms helps teach fluency, idiomatic or conversational discourse, and cultural or social exchanges in conversation. A blog can be a good space to let the students practice together and build the learning community that will give them confidence on the outside. In addition we can learn much from the ESL students. We can learn from their stories.

Don’t worry though as we will get a chance to view some samples and discuss them. You will be given the time to think about what will work best in your classroom. Blogs can be used for many purposes in schools.

However the focus for our blogs entails the following objectives:

1. Introduce weblog-based activities into language arts classroom.
2. Increase the quantity and improve the quality of student reading and writing.

You will be creating a space where students can read, write, and learn. It will be a place where they can publish their ideas and give and receive feedback from each other as well as others outside your classroom.

So before you view some educational blogs let’s review some components of blogs and navigation and reading tips.
